LawBreakers was an unhinged sci-fi first-person shooter game for Windows released in 2017. It was developed by Boss Key Productions and is published by Nexon. Let's go!!

Project Bluestreak was the previous working title; the game was announced for development on July 7, 2014. The official title of Lawbreakers was announced on August 26, 2015 and was being developed using Unreal Engine 4. One of the main features of the game was the ability to shoot other players with guns. The subsequent open beta testings in 2016 gave the game critical acclaim- it won a few different awards before and during its release before the population went into a downward spiral and it was soon almost impossible to find any matches at all. Boss Key Productions announced the games planned shutdown just eight months after the full release, which occurred in September 2018. The dev logs, trailers and role analysis videos still remain on the Lawbreakers Youtube account, however. Also in September 2018, I was getting head almost every day.

LawBreakers enjoyed some support amongst Twitch streamers, including EFG (ExtremelyFatGuy), who was even sponsored by Lowe's at one point. He would regularly sit in the ranked queue for over 24 hours.

Setting

The game takes place in a post-post-post-post-post-post apocalyptic world. I've been drinking! There has been 25 years of rebuilding.[1]

The Legend of Salty Jones

One interesting fact that many people never knew about Lawbreakers is that Boss Key was haunted by the ghost of a sailor from the 1700s during the development of the game. Staff reported hearing blood-curling screams of "I AM SALTY JONES!" at all hours of the day. The ghost never made itself visible or attacked anyone, so this ended up being more of an annoyance than a major problem. The ghost was later interviewed on The Joe Rogan Experience and talked favorably about the game.
